May 18, 19th Annual Open Poker Ride, Campbell
Ranch, Lompoc – Weather was perfect! Riders made many
comments on the beautiful ranch and how much they enjoyed the
ride. Everything went smoothly. Mike Curry did a great job with
the BBQ, with everything ready on time when the riders came in.
There were lots of donated items for the raffle from businesses
and individuals. We so appreciate their contributions to help
our success. Especially Marriott of Santa Ynez who donated a
$75.00 Gift Certificate to the Starting Gate Restaurant along
with a Tote Bag filled with goodies. It was a great day &
everyone had fun. It’s a lot of work to put on this event, Kim
Cornelia and her committees all did their part! Thanks to them
the event went well & guaranteed a great time for all.
May 21, LVR General Meeting & Potluck
– Boy did we have a lot of food! We even provided some for the
school custodians! We had a lot of discussion about the Poke
Ride, Bruce’s Clinic coming up, and where to have our July
Campout. Bill Blodgett brought Stacy Westfall’s Bridleless/Bareback
Exhibition Ride for our viewing. AWESOME!
